“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
I Thessalonians 5:16-18

How I rejoice in the Lord and give thanks for His blessing on our “2021 Harvest Celebration”! Thank you for partnering and participating in an event to celebrate Christ and His bountiful provision both spiritually and physically.

If you missed Sunday’s “Family Worship” I encourage you to be sure and watch/listen to the presentation of Charles Clough! It is so informing, inspiring, and encouraging as we live in these challenging days!

“Come, Ye Thankful People, Come”
Henry Alford

“Come!” What a great call!

I want to encourage you to “Come” Sunday for both our “Missions Awareness Sunday” in Family Worship @ 10:30, featuring a practical proclamation from Charles Clough (one of our Missions Team members), encouraging and equipping us to be “witnesses” unto Jesus, and then join us for our “2021 Harvest Celebration” @ Noon!

Incredibly the hymn title above was a hymn written in the 1800’s for the “English harvest festivals” and is so timely for us in 2021! So, “Come“, and be sure to bring a side or dessert (and chili if you dare enter the “Cook-off” and hope to dethrone the reigning champ! Chili entries need to be @ the storage building before church!)

Also this is designed as an event to introduce family, friends, and our community to FC and our 2021 theme “Jesus, our Sure Foundation” and ministries, as well as deepening our connection and fellowship with “one-another“! In that light, use this as an opportunity to “come” and “invite others to come“!

Finally, a brief comment on the weather forecast. If we need to cancel, we will inform you before Sunday by “calling post“! (If you are not on that list, please notify the Chapel Office by responding, today, to this email!)

“Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest loves ‘US’, and I love you all!”

“Great is Thy Faithfulness”
Thomas O. Chisholm

How I praise God for His great faithfulness!

I am so looking forward to celebrating Jesus and His faithfulness to ‘US‘ this Sunday @ our “2021 Harvest Celebration“, and in Family Worship for another “Missions Awareness Sunday” featuring Charles Clough and a proclamation centering on “A Biblical Framework for Living“! (Charles is a part of two of the ministries we support financially/prayerfully on our Missions Team: Chafer Seminary and Biblical Framework Ministries.) His presentation is going to be so relevant and practical you will not want to miss it!

Our “2021 Harvest Celebration” is going to be incredible! We encourage you to not miss this family time to meet/greet/fellowship with our church family, families, and community. I challenge anyone who has not signed up for the “chili-cook-off” to do so. I have my eyes on the prize! It is going to be a great day immediately following Family Worship! (See attached flyer and forward to family and friends.) Please respond to this email if you have not signed up.

Well, I have to run so I can get back in the kitchen, but be assured “I love you guys!”

“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are
God’s field, you are God’s building.”
I Corinthians 3:9

This Sunday @ Fellowship Chapel will be an exciting, directional, and inspirational one as we “kick-off” our New Ministry year 2021/22!

As a former football player and coach, our “Team Meeting” @ the beginning of the year was always foundational to our success in the year! I have carried that over into the pastoral ministry, that we take a Sunday each year to remind and relaunch us with a “Team Meeting” to  enrich and encourage us as we “press on” to fulfill God’s purpose and plan for ‘us’!

So, I encourage you , do not miss this Sunday as we present our 2021/22 theme in proclamation and “FC: A Blueprint for 2021/22“! Also, this is a great Sunday to be an “inviter” for family and friends to become acquainted with FC!

” . . . make the most of every opportunity . . . “
Ephesians 5:!6 (NIV)

As I write we are less than 72 hours from the beginning of our “A NH 2021 Tent Revival: Jesus our Firm Foundation“! I am so enthused about us “Celebrating Jesus, our Firm Foundation” with you and our community!

In that light, I remind you to please pray and participate in this incredible event. We have had a great response in regards to you partnering together, and you have seen an amazing email, previously sent out, with details concerning it. In this final leg I urge you to invite others to join you. The praise and special music selections are going to be amazing with some new faces, the testimonies are promising to be unforgettable as last year from those who have been a part of us for a longer season and some for a new time! Additionally our proclamations will be powerful and exalt Jesus and provide opportunities for people to not only believe in but also increasingly become more like Christ!

I am so looking forward to seeing and being with you, as well as those who attend this transforming time.

“Jesus, our firm foundation loves us and I love you!”

Pastor MLK

P.S. This is going to be a great time of deepening connection and fellowship with ‘one-another’!

As we approach a potential life changing event for so many of us, we are forwarding an information email we request you forward to invite people (believers and no-yet believers whom you love) to join ‘US’!

I ask you keep this significant event in prayer as we look for God to do…

” . . . exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

“Wow!”

That is the only word I can think of that reflects my thoughts on this past Sunday! A dear friend texted me Monday saying “What a perfect day!!!” I am so amazed at the incredible work of our awesome Lord Jesus Christ in these days! I rejoice that I am a part of them with you!

This Sunday will be another ‘extra special’ one as we celebrate Christ together including our “2021 Dedication of Children” and “Honoring Fathers 2021“! If you desire to have your children dedicated, please let us know, and families I encourage you to have your dads here for a special time to “honor” them!

I was spiritually moved by our entire day Sunday. I am so blessed to have the honor of serving you guys!

“Rejoice in the Lord always.
Again I will say, rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4

I am rejoicing in the Lord with you as we approach our “2021 Annual Believer Baptism/Picnic“!

I wanted to express to you something said to me yesterday, as an encouragement to you as I was preparing! I went down to the NH Swim Club to assure our planning. Tony, who I assumed is the manager this year, said to me, as I remember, in essence, “You know, I have never experienced your baptism service here, but our lifeguards who have been here said it was an extremely meaningful time, and requested working or simply attending.” Wow! We never know the influence or impact we may be having!

With that testimony, I encourage you to not miss this “extremely meaningful” time! We will begin @ 9:30a @ NHSC (next door to FC) and will then go to FC for our Annual Picnic! This is an incredible opportunity for us to celebrate Jesus and His ministry, as well as to meet/greet and get to know “one-another” in a deepening way! It will be a great investment of time in manifesting Christ thru us as we eat together, share together, and play together!

We are preparing and will be prepared (Lord willing!) and all we need is your presence!

“Looking unto Jesus and anticipating a Christ conforming day
as we love Him and ‘one-another’!”

” . . . baptizing them in the name of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
Matthew 28:19

Sunday will be amazing as we celebrate Christ and we fulfill what is known as “The Great Commission” in our “Annual Baptism 2021” @ 9:30a @ the North Harford Swim Club. We will follow with our “Annual Picnic 2021” on the FC grounds! If you want, bring a lawn chair to enjoy (or watch) lawn games (tailgate toss, tether ball, soccer, kickball, volleyball), or to just fellowship with one-another!

Also, congratulations to Don and Julianna Witt (ones to attend FC, and Julianna is the daughter of Barry & Deb Becker and sister of Jenna Kahl, who is a part of FC with her husband Sam!), who welcomed their second child this morning, a boy names Ezra!

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship,
in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Acts 2:42

This Sunday we have an incredible opportunity following our “2021 Believer Baptism Celebration” @ North Harford Swim Club @ 9:30 to “continue steadfastly in . . . fellowship” as we connect @ our 2021 Annual Picnic!
It will take place in our “Storage building/Barn” on the grounds of FC! It will be a time of food, (FC providing hamburgers/hot dogs/drinks, and you the sides (dessert/salad)), of fellowship (meeting, greeting, growing in our knowledge of one-another), and fun (yard games, etc.).

The Lord Jesus is doing amazing things as He builds His church @ FC, and you are a vital part of it! I encourage you, join Him, in what He is doing this Sunday as He perfects His work in and thru US!

“Loving and looking forward to seeing you Sunday!”

” . . . baptizing in the name . . . “
Matthew 28:19

How I thank God for ‘US‘, and how blessed I am to serve the interest of Jesus Christ here @ Fellowship Chapel in and with you.

In this season of a fresh renewing work of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior here @ FC, is the Spirit impressing upon your heart to respond in faith to be baptized as an outward manifestation of the inward reality of your spiritual identification with Jesus? If so, it is not too late to participate Sunday!

I encourage you, if this is the case for you, as it is for several others, please contact me. I can inform and even answer questions. We would love to have you a part of this Celebration!

Looking forward to a great celebration Sunday!

“But the LORD is in His holy temple.
Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”
Habakkuk 2:20

This is one of the key verses in the book of “Habakkuk” and we get to consider it together Sunday! I assure you this “Family Worship” will be encouraging in partnership, inspirational in praise/prayer, instructive in proclamation, and transformational in living! I as so enthused to be with you, my spiritual family, Sunday, to worship God in spirit and truth with you!

“I love you and am looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Pastor MLK

P.S. As a reminder, Jason Eyler will begin facilitating a new study in “Discovery Time” @ 9:30 entitled “Forward“, which integrates Philippians 3:12-14. This is a timely series and a perfect time for you to invest in as this week is the “kick-off“!
Also, attached is the ‘family connector’ for June 6-13, along with the monthly prayer sheet, and a flyer.

that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to
all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21

This 2021 “Memorial Day Sunday” was incredible! I thank you all for your participation and your encouragement in regards to it. I am still in awe of God Himself, and His blessing on that day!

I want to communicate some vital information in relation to an upcoming event and its details!

Sunday 13 June will be our “Annual Baptism Celebration/Picnic“! With so many new families, I wanted to let you know of our plan and schedule for the day:
  • 9:30a we will meet @ the North Harford Swim Club (next door to FC). You can go straight there and park. We will have our “2021 Baptism Celebration” poolside. We will have chairs, shade, and water. We will sing and celebrate “Believer Baptism “. (If you have never been baptized as a believer and desire to do so, this is a great opportunity.)
  • 10:30a we will make our way to the “Storage Building; Barn” on the grounds of FC. We will then have our Annual Picnic @ 11:00a. This one is as important as any in recent memory in the light of us meeting, greeting, and connecting! We will provide hamburgers and hot dogs with fixings, bags of chips, prepackaged desserts, and drinks. We also want to invite you to bring your favorite side dish (salad/dessert) to share. We will eat together, share together, play yard games together, and enjoy great food and fellowship as we grow in our fellowship with “one-another“! It will be an amazing and maturing day! If you have questions about that day please ask us!
So that’s our plan! If you desire to be baptized please sign up Sunday or contact me @ chapel3821@msn.com or 410.557.8859! (I will be in touch concerning preparation.) If you plan on attending the picnic please sign-up Sunday, or contact us @ chapel3821@msn.com; 410.557.8859!

As we were finishing up our “Summer Outreach” event Wednesday, the “Critter Connections” representative said to me, “Your realize how blessed you are at this church, right?” I responded to him, “Yes, Michael, I believe of all pastors I am most blessed!” I believe that from the bottom of my heart and that blessing involved you in fresh ways!

“I love you guys!”

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

Habakkuk and I are best friends, don’t you know.” I received that quote this week from one of our dearly loved family members @ FC! I do not know about you, but I can so relate on so many fronts of living!
“But God . . .” is such an encouragement!

I want to encourage you to plan on attending our “Coffee House Night of Worship” we are entitling “Waymaker” @ 7:00p (doors open @ 6:00p) Saturday! It is a timely evening of Praise, Prayer, and Proclamation to strengthen and encourage us as we run the race of 2021! I have “insider information” on this evening, from the Lord’s leading to what it includes, and I want to say “you do not want to miss it“! It will be an incredible evening for your family, friends, and even an opportunity to invite “not-yet-believers” as we focus on Jesus our “Waymaker“!

Also, attached to this email is a listing of our “Missions Team 2021“, who they are, what they do, their contact information, and our financial support of them. We want to encourage you to reach out to them in these challenging days, and if you would feel led to personally financially give to them, you have their contact information.

Finally today, I urge you to not miss “Family Worship” Sunday! So many of us are facing “do not lean on your own understanding” moments and we need to hear the proclamation of “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” together, if @ all possible!

Beloved ones, I believe with all my heart the Lord is illuminating Habakkuk to us and for us @ FC for “such a time as this“! May we make the most of it!

“Are you not . . .”
Habakkuk 1:12a

Do you desire to grow deeper in your knowledge of “the Lord”? If so, Sunday in “Family Worship” is for you! Habakkuk, in chaotic and challenging times, reflects on “who he knows” in the light of what he does not know! Sound familiar?

Be with us and be encouraged Sunday!

“You are loved by Jesus and me!”

5.12.2021
” . . . encourage one-another . . .”
I Thessalonians 5:11

This is one of my favorite “one-anothers” which is powerfully integrated with “loving one-another”! How I rejoice that it is being fulfilled here @ FC @ this time!

I pray our “moms” were encouraged as we celebrated them in an “extra special” way Sunday. We love you!

A want to encourage you in 2 upcoming events:
  • “Waymaker” Coffee House Evening of Worship @ FC on Saturday 22 May (Doors open @ 6:00p and program begins @ 7:00p) The timeliness of this event is incredible so do not miss it!
  • Our Annual Baptism/Picnic is just around the corner on Sunday 13 June. If you desire to participate in “Believer Baptism” that day, please contact us @ 410.557.8859, chapel3821@msn.com, or sign up! Integrated with that celebration will be our Annual Picnic. We are so looking forward to continuing our deepening connection with “one-another”!

I encourage you, you are a part of the church which Jesus purchased with His blood, and He is building it in amazing ways in the world and here @ FC in 2021. “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth;
shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:19

How blessed I am and we are to be a part of the “new thing” the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior is doing in and thru us @ FC for the glory of God!

My beloved ones, my joy and crown, I urge and encourage you to not miss this Sunday! We are calling it “Pressing on in Declaring Jesus in 2021!“, from Philippians 3:7-11! It will be a day of celebration of Christ and His perfecting of His church @ FC! It will be a time of spiritual renewal in praise and proclamation, mental and emotional encouragement, and special physical refreshment (NT Fellowship Meal). We will be presenting ‘new‘ imagery to reflect who we are, our ‘new‘ directory, a ‘new‘ form of identification, as well as a reminder of our direction for 2021!

So I appeal to ask you to not miss “Family Worship” @ 10:30, invite friends or loved ones to join you as they will be exposed to the heart of Christ @ FC, and please pray for an incredible day!

“Looking unto Jesus who loves us and looking
forward to seeing you, whom I love, on Sunday!”

4.2.2021
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
and that He was buried, and that He rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures.”
I Corinthians 15:3-4

I was so impressed this morning in reading the mentioned verses, and how Paul emphasizes the declaration of the gospel and its importance, “first of all” that I was compelled to write to you!

I want to encourage you to make every effort to be with us Sunday @ either 8:30a or 10:30a or view us on “Facebook Live“! It is going to be a powerful day of connecting partnership, inspiring praise (including 2 special music pieces), fervent prayer, and transforming proclamation. It will be memorable!

My dear family @ FC, I can not recall a time when I was so excited about us being together! Maybe it is because of God’s faithfulness this past year, maybe it is because of Christ’s incredible working in the present, or maybe it is anticipating His soon return, but for whatever reason, I am looking forward to seeing you in some form Sunday and celebrating “Jesus the Christ, the Son of God our Savior” and “His Resurrection“!

With that, now is an opportune time to invite family and friends to come, or view, with you and hear the “Gospel of Jesus Christ” declared and a special opportunity for all to respond by faith!

Pray for me, pray for us, pray for God to be glorified in new and fresh ways @ FC and around the world this “Resurrection Sunday 2021!”

“Jesus loves you, died for you, lives for you,
and I love you!”

3.31.2021
“He is not here; He is risen as He said.”
Matthew 28:6

It is always with great enthusiasm that I look forward to “Celebrating Jesus the Christ the Son of God” and His Resurrection with you! For some reason, this year I have an extra special anticipation as I pray, prepare, and plan on “worshipping in spirit and truth” this “Resurrection Sunday 2021“!

I wanted to communicate a few important timely “Family Matters”:
  • Be praying and planning for this “Resurrection Sunday 2021!” I encourage you to be inviting others to join you @ FC or virtually as we celebrate “Jesus, the Son of Man: His Resurrection“! It will be incredible!
  • Men, I encourage you to sign up (by Chapel email: chapel3821@msn.com; phone: 410.557.8859; or sign up @ FC this Sunday) for our Mini-Men’s Fellowship/Bible Study we are calling “Conformed to His Image: Relational Living. It will strike @ the heart of God and our love for Him, ourselves, and others. It will be @ FC from 7:00-8:00 on Tuesday evenings (April 6,13, 28), and will be a great time to be encouraged in the Scriptures and getting to know one-another!
  • Finally, save the date for Sunday 18 April! We are calling it “FC: Pressing on in Declaring Jesus“. It will be Scriptural (Philippians 3:12-14), Directional (Strategic Planning), Informational (New Direction); and Inspirational in relation to be a part of Jesus building His church @ FC!
Also, by way of urgent prayer:
  • Pray for the Verginakis family as Nancy is being placed in hospice care and unless Christ intervenes, is anticipated to be face to face with Jesus soon. Pray for the peace of God to be manifest in their hearts as they navigate these days and make crucial decisions!
  • Pray for one of our missionary partners, Richard Kiser. He had a cauterization of his heart (in Florida) on Monday & seems to be doing well enough to be going home to Virginia on Friday. Thank the Lord it was not a heart attack as first suspected.
  • Pray for our nation; socially, politically, physically, & for our leaders! Pray for revival as we approach Resurrection Sunday 2021!
My beloved spiritual family, how I praise and thank God for ‘US‘ and the fruitful “Life‘ of Christ thriving and being manifest in and thru us @ “such a time as this“!

“I am so blessed, and love you so much!”

Pastor MLK

3.25.2021

“redeeming the time, . . .”
(making the most of every opportunity . . . the time”)
Ephesians 5:16a

“Fellowship Chapel is thriving: seize the day!”

That is a quote from a FC member that is echoed by so many in their own verbiage! I so agree and say a heartfelt “Yes. Amen!”

In that light I wanted to communicate some vital information to use for our increasing connection!
  • This Palm Sunday 2021 in “Family Worship” we will begin a 3 part timely “Resurrection” Season series we are entitling “A Celebration of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God”! From the Gospel of Luke we will consider His Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension and the powerful ramifications and implications for us. I encourage you to not miss this proclamation series, but also invite others to join you either in person @ FC or virtually for a “watch party”! “Redeem the time!”
  • Sunday 4 April: “Resurrection (Easter) Sunday 2021” will be incredible! We will have 2 services that day, one @ 8:30a and one @ 10:30a. (No “Discovery Time”) Both will be the same in content, including Informational Partnership, Inspirational Praise (including special music), and a Powerful Proclamation entitled “Jesus, the Son of Man: His Resurrection”! Please indicate which time you plan to attend in number (including visitors) to help in our planning and preparation. “He is risen just as He said!”
  • Beginning Tuesday evening, 6 April @ 7:00p, we will begin a 3 week “Men’s Fellowship/Bible Study” @ FC we are calling “Conformed to His Image: Relational Living (featuring Ken Boa)”. I want to encourage all men and teen sons to join us as we consider what it means to “outlive” thru Christ, by His Spirit, the great commandment as it applies to loving God completely: ourselves correctly: and other compassionately! This time is designed for instruction, encouragement, and deepening fellowship (getting to know ‘one-another’). “Seize this moment!”
  • Sunday 18 April: “FC: Pressing On”! It will be an incredible day as we “Celebrate 40 years of Declaring Jesus” in a powerful scriptural, inspirational, and directional day! We have some special presentations including our new directory and some exciting opportunities/encouragements/announcements! This is another “do not miss ” day as a spiritual family. “Make the most of the time!”
  • Additionally, this Sunday our “Family Connector” will be located on the wall, as you enter the Sanctuary, to the right (by the “Offering Box” table). Please be sure and take one for the increasing communication. “Connect with ‘one another’!”
  • Finally, @ the Welcome Center in the foyer are “Here’s Hope” New Testaments for you to take and give away if you desire, as well as copies of “Our Daily Bread” devotionals. “Continue steadfastly in the Word and prayer!”
My deeply loved family and dear friends, FC is not only surviving in challenging days, but by God’s grace, thriving! May we respond in faith to where Christ is working and join Him in building His church for God’s glory!

“Looking unto Jesus who loves us with you whom I love!”

3.18.2021
“And let us consider one another in order
to stir up love and good works.”
Hebrews 10:24

Dearly beloved @ FC, my soul and spirit are on fire and wanting to “break out” of containment!

I have been preparing for our proclamation Sunday, in which the topic will be “praying . . . in the Spirit“, and I am so enthused about it I can hardly wait to proclaim it!

In that light, in these challenging days, prayer is a vital piece of our spiritual equipment to “Stand Firm (Fast) in the Lord”. This timely exposition from Ephesians 6:18 will be stimulating, strengthening, and encouraging as we “run the race” we are called to in 2021!

My spiritual family, I know I express my enthusiasm for Christ and God’s revelation weekly in various ways, but I sense this proclamation is one of the most relevant we can hear and heed by faith in these days. If God chooses to perfect our praying in the Spirit by faith, I believe mountains will move! Wow!

So, may I say, if you are comfortable being in the presence of others, be with ‘US‘ Sunday and invite someone who may benefit in hearing the 4 “Alls of prayer“! If you are understandably unable join us, do not miss this proclamation either on “Facebook Live” or later on “YouTube“!

“Jesus love you, and is praying for you,
and I love ‘US’, and am praying for ‘US’!
Please pray for me!”

Pastor MLK

3.12.2021
“Now to Him who is able to do abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all
generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21

These ‘benedictory‘ verses, which you know I love and associate with, have taken on new and fresh meaning for me since March 2020!

I was returning with Charles Clough from the “Chafer Seminary Pastors Conference” in Huston, TX  last year when all of the transitions we have experienced began to occur!

As we met on Sunday 15 March @ FC and celebrated Christ and Communion, little did I know the 2020/21 “race” God was marking and setting out for ‘US‘!

I have mentioned many times over the last year that “I do not know what I do not know” and therefore I choose to focus on who I know, the “Lord Jesus Christ my Savior“, and what I know, that He is sovereign, wise, gracious, good, and loving, and promised to never leave me or forsake me as my indwelling ‘Life‘!

As you know, 2 fundamental verses that I emphasized to myself and ‘US‘ all year, were Proverbs 3:5 & 6:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Today, I wanted to express, with you as my witness, my deep heartfelt gratitude to God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) for “exceedingly abundantly” fulfilling the promises of His presence, peace, power, and provision, as He has “directed” my and our “steps” in ways I could never have imagined! Words could never express my praise or thanks to Him for His great faithfulness, or my thanks to you for being with me in this leg of the “journey of living” in unprecendented, changing, and challenging times! His all sufficient grace has enabled ‘US‘ to not only survive, but to thrive in “such a time as this“! We have new members, new families, new ministries, and new participation in ways I could never have expected or anticipated. He has worked “all things” together for the good of those who love Him!

I recently received a card that sits on my desk that expresses my heart for God and you for how I view myself. It simply says, “Freely Blessed”!

So today, as we in one sense, continue to “embrace the race” He has chosen for us, let us choose to “look away” from all distractions and “look unto Jesus” in new and fresh ways as He “directs” our paths and perfects His good work in and thru ‘US‘!

“To God be the glory,
great things He has done!”

“I love you guys”

Latest Praise Report / Prayer Requests from missionary John Metzger with Ariel Ministries.

Praise Reports:
For continued good health.
For a year-long teaching on the Life of Messiah in my home church here in Charlotte and that over the course of study many encouraging comments of appreciation for the study were made.
I have finished the Psalms and now the entire OT in the Ariel Study Bible.
Continued praise for God meeting prayer and support needs with COVID having destroyed nearly all speaking engagements in 2020.

Prayer Requests:
For the printing and contacts for the Spanish version of God In Eclipse.
I will begin my final reading through all my work on the Ariel Study Bible to make sure that I have not missed anything.

Then all this massive work will be handed over to Ariel’s Publishing Department, and I will begin my work on the New Testament.
Prayer for contacts in the Spanish world for God In Eclipse, that doors will be opened for my book but also all of Ariel’s books done in Spanish.
The Jewish world in Spanish speaking countries is very neglected. Pray for God to prepare the hearts of these Jewish people. Also pray for contacts in South and Central America who have a burden for the Jewish people.

Please continue to pray for opportunities to get speaking engagements in 2021.

“And take the helmet of salvation, . . .”
Ephesians 6:17a

This Sunday both our “Discovery Time(Sunday School) @ 9:30, and our “Family Worship” @ 10:30, will be “do not miss” opportunities!

In our “Age Specific” Open House, downstairs, we will have a special guest to do an interactive presentation that will be both visual and spiritual! In that light, this will be a great Sunday to return to, or to begin the pattern of “biblical training/instruction” provided @ FC for our next generations! Our “Adult Class” will continue in the sanctuary with Jim Braun facilitating “Unshakeable Hope“!

In “Family Worship” in addition to meaningful partnership, effectual prayer and inspiring praise from our Praise Team 2021, we will continue our proclamation series, “Stand Firm (Fast) in the Lord“, with the special addition of our special guest who will physically illustrate the spiritual armor of God we have been discussing in the reality of our ‘unseen’ conflict with the world system, the independent flesh, and the devil (and forces of darkness!).

So, again I encourage you, for your good and God’s glory, “do not miss” Sunday AM @ FC either in person, or if you prefer virtually on “Facebook Live” or YouTube next week. I assure you it will be spiritually enlightening, encouraging, and strengthening!

“The Savior of the Body of Christ, Jesus, loves you and I love ‘US’!

P.S. I remind you of the interactive discipleship opportunity beginning Sunday Evening @ 6:30, facilitated by Jen Trimble, entitled “Breaking Free from Anxiety and Depression“!

3.3.2021
” . . . exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think . . . “
Ephesians 3:20b

That phrase, inspired by the Holy Spirit thru the apostle Paul, perfectly expressed my thoughts about what God is doing @ FC in 2021!

We are being blessed with fresh organic growth with new members and new ministries that are amazing! I am so blessed to be a part of ‘US’ right here and right now!

I wanted to communicate a few “family” matters:
  • Thank God for our new members’: Joan Derry, Janet Ramsey, Laura Wade, John & Carole Walkden. I am so enthused to see how God perfects ‘US’ thru them!
  • George Bachman’s mom did well in her surgery and her progress looks good. PTL!
  • Sunday Evening will begin a new study entitled “Breaking Free from Anxiety and Depression”, facilitated by Jen Trimble @ 6:;30p. It will be an interactive thematic biblical study to strengthen and encourage you as you “run the race” God has set before you!
I want to express my personal heartfelt thanks for your encouragement as we continue to navigate this challenging and changing time! You guys are the best!

“Jesus loves US, gave Himself for US, and I love you!”

2.24.2021
” . . . encourage one another . . .”
Hebrews 10:25

“One-anothering!” We coined that phrase here @ FC in the 1990’s and how I love it! I am so blessed to be a part of a “spiritual family” that Loves one another” in so many ways!

I want to thank you for your “one-anothering” me by encouraging me in this challenging season by your notes, emails, and cards! This season has been, and continues to be, unprecedented. But God is faithful now and forevermore! I humbly ask you to continue to “one-another” me by praying for me as we continue to navigate these uncertain days focusing on a certain God!

This Sunday will be “extra special” (Andy of Mayberry!). We will celebrate and welcome to our Fellowship Chapel Family several “New Members 2021“. I am so enthused @ what Christ is doing in and thru ‘US‘ even in this season, and seeing who He is sending to ‘US‘ to perfect His good work among ‘US‘ is incredible!

Also, our proclamation will be deeply personal and pastoral, in one sense striking @ how we “please God” (Hint: Hebrews 11:6). It will be a timely and timeless continuation of our mini=series entitled “Stand Firm (Fast) in the Lord” from Ephesians 6:10-18. I encourage you to not miss this time, either in person or virtually, as I assure you it will be “Christ-conforming“.

Also, we will plan again on an “Open House” format for our “Age Specific” Discovery Time @ 9:30. We, as leaders/teachers, are asking God to enlighten us to how He is working in our next generation, and how we can practically join Him and you to point to and proclaim Jesus to them for a lasting impact! I encourage you, please pray for us and bring your young ones to join DT @ FC @ 9:30a.

By way of additional prayer, please pray for the Lewis Family as Ada’s mom, Gloria Witham, went to be with Jesus on Sunday. The Memorial Celebration of her life will be Friday in PA.

I thank God for you, for ‘US‘, and rejoice in how He is building His church @ FC in 2021!

I love you in and thru Him who 1st loved ‘us’!”

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Romans 11:33

This morning in my personal devotional time I was so strongly reminded of the “wisdom of God” and how He calls me to simply trust Him with all my heart even when I cannot trace His hand!

How I thank Him for His gracious call to this location (Fellowship Chapel) and the opportunity to serve Him and you in this unprecedented situation in time!

As I have “run the race of grace” He has set before me in 2020/21, with its changes and challenges, I thank you for your prayers and patience as I and we have navigated these unprecedented days. As I reflected this morning, I could only rejoice in how faithful God is and how “truly blessed” I am!

If I can be of any assistance or serve you in any way as we continue “running together”, please let me know!

I love you!

Valentine’s Sunday @ FC

” . . . make disciples . . .”

Matthew 28:19

How I thank God for you (‘new creations in Christ’) and for ‘US’ and the fresh work of Christ in and thru ‘US’ @ FC in 2021! It is amazing!

We are so enthused at the perfecting work of the Head of the church, Jesus Christ, here in this season. As we continue the process of regathering and expanding our Ministries, we are planning on, attempting to, restarting our Discovery Time Ministry Sunday @ 9:30a.

In preface I wanted to communicate a few heart felt thoughts from last week! (I know this is lengthy, but I felt it so important to understand why and what, so thank you for considering!)

We view our “DT” Ministry as an essential part of our ministry and mission to fulfill the Great Commission to ” . . . make disciples . . .”! In that light it has been in our hearts and plans to resume this vital ministry for several months. We have been blessed with a number of families attending FC who were not pre-Covid and we are so thankful for the God given momentum! (I hope you are enthused as I!)

In our processing, planning, and preparing, in the light of Covid for “DT Ministry”, we knew we could begin “Adult” Discovery but we knew we would face a number of various challenges with our “Graded (Age Specific)” classes.

What we discussed and planned as Elders/Deacons, is on February 7, now the 14th, we will begin one Adult class @ this time facilitated by Jim Braun entitled “Unshakeable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God”. We have a great registration for this study and are looking forward to it. Which leads us to our “Graded (Age Specific)” classes. We have faced challenges in this ministry in recent years especially in having students up to age 12. So much is dependent on the parents consistent participation, and therefore the students attendance. In that light, we have decided to have this Sunday be in essence an “open house” format to get an idea on how many students, what ages, and how we plan to minister to them. We are not sure how this will look but we deeply desire to present the opportunity to point and proclaim Christ to these upcoming generations, and take this step of faith and adjust as we proceed! (As a side note, I felt I could suggest we wait until we had everything ‘figured out’, but I sense God was impressing us to begin “walking by faith” as we have since March 2020.) We will endeavor to observe protocols during this time.

So with that foundation laid, this Sunday we will endeavor to begin our “Discovery Time” (Sunday School) Ministry @ 9:30a! It will take this form Sunday:

  • “Adults” (including @ this time college/career adults) will meet in the Sanctuary for “Unshakeable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God”!
  • “Graded (Age Specific)” students will all meet together downstairs with several Deacons and our “teaching team”. I will facilitate an encouraging time of visual “spiritual devotion” proclaiming and pointing to Jesus Christ. We will see who attends and who has registered. (Any parents who want to come down with children are invited and wanted to understand our plan. Also, if you cannot attend but are interested, please contact us and register your young person, whatever age!) We will then communicate together as Elders/Deacons/Teachers as to a plan of how to organize groups to best minister to them, what our curriculum will be for each, our schedule, protocol, etc. We are aware this is not as “clean” a restart for our under age 12 (we seem to have a tentative plan for Junior/Senior High), and toddler/nursery needs as we may desire, but it seems the best way forward to our leaders @ this unprecedented time and our hearts desire for Christ and our future generations who we desire to invest in! We will then communicate to you our next steps.

Now a special pastoral encouraging word to the parents among us! It was so providential last week in the “Our Daily Bread” the emphasis was on “teaching” our children. In a day and age where the information they are receiving is so indoctrinating (media: some educational forms: etc.) in a worldview and design that is not biblical, that it is an incredible challenge for you! Our desire is not to replace your “God given” call, but to support you and what you are teaching your children and grandchildren whether in AWANA, Scripture Adventure, Discovery Time, or any other ministry form to them! I, as a parent and grandparent, know the selfless sacrifice involved in “training our children” and putting them in environments for them to be pointed to Christ and the Scriptures, but it is worth the investment.

So, I want to encourage you to not only participate by bringing those precious gifts entrusted to you, but partner with ‘US’ using your talents and gifts to serve Christ and our “future generations”! (I also would say, @ this time where so many are “shuttered”, invite ones to join ‘US’ as we love Christ and ‘one-another’ @ this time!)

Practically we will meet from 9:30a-10:15a, and regather for “Family Worship” @ 10:30a.

Thank you for taking the time to read and hear my and our hearts and this plan, as well as your understanding and patience. Also, we welcome any input or insights you may have as we navigate these uncertain and uncharted times but being certain of this, “We are all about Jesus!”

In closing, for me, one who is over organized, I realize our plan is will require flexibility, adjusting, as we prayerfully endeavor to “join Christ” in what He is doing in this ministry in 2021!

I love you guys because Jesus first loved ‘US’ and I am . . .

“Looking to Jesus with you and forward  to what He is going to do in and thru us in 2021!”

In our processing, planning, and preparing, in the light of Covid for “DT Ministry“, we knew we could begin “Adult” Discovery but we knew we would face a number of various challenges with our “Graded (Age Specific)” classes. In closing, for me, one who is over organized, this plan is not perfect and will require flexibility, adjusting, as we prayerfully endeavor to “join Christ” in what He is doing in this ministry in 2021!

1.21.2021
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against
spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12

In these challenging days of change, how encouraging to know that “God is working, everything in accordance with His will and way (which this morning in my daily reading I was reminded is perfect) for the good of ‘US’ who love Him”! Wow! That can fill ‘US‘ with courage and confidence if we appropriate in faith thru Christ and by His Spirit!

I am compelled by God to encourage you today to not miss this Sunday @ FC either in person or if needed virtually. As we continue our exposition of Ephesians 6:10-18, entitling it “Stand Firm in the Lord“, I have some fresh insights I can’t wait to share with you, that are so relevant and applicable in these days of change, God can use them to change ‘US‘ by conforming ‘US’ increasingly into the likeness of Christ.

I am “looking unto Jesus” and “looking forward” to seeing you in some form Sunday!

“Loving you guys thru Him who loves us!”

Pastor MLK

P.S. Please remember to fill in and return  Opportunities to Invest @ FC.

1.20.2021
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
I Peter 4:10

How I thank God for ‘US‘ and the perfecting work He is doing right here, right now, thru Christ and by His Holy Spirit in accord with His Word!

As we continue the process of “Re-gathering” and “Re-starting” our ministries we see it as a great opportunity to invest in who and what the Head of the Church, Jesus Christ, is doing, and join Him! We believe that this is the season He desires to do in and thru ‘US” more than we can think or imagine! For that to occur, we must all, as Peter says, “minister (our gifting) to one anther“!

To assist ‘US‘ in organizing this living organism @ FC, we request you complete the attached “Opportunities to Invest @ FC” form. The Elders/Deacons are endeavoring to engage more people in our current and new ministries in 2021 and this information will help us accomplish that!

So, from the bottom of my pastor’s heart, if you have not (and thanks to so many of you who have), please complete this form and either bring it Sunday if you attend, or mail it if you will not be in attendance.

I am so enthused to be a part of you and to be a part of the “new thing” He is doing @ FC!

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand
that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10

“Jesus the Christ loves ‘US’ and I love you!”

1.15.2021

“To be absent from the body
is to be present with the Lord.”
II Corinthians 5:8

I find myself in a reflective perspective this morning as I remember one, Dan Johnson, and the celebration and honoring, yesterday, of his living, and deep appreciation for the influence and impact Christ had on me thru him!

I give thanks to God for Dan and rejoice he is “present with the Lord“, but also grieve as one who believes and hopes in Jesus Christ.

I also rejoice that “for such a time as this” I am “present in the body” and with you and for the precious calling to “preach not myself but Jesus Christ as Lord” and to pastorally serve His interest in you and ‘US‘!

As we have the opportunity I encourage us to “seize the moment” to “walk wisely” and “walk in love” for God and “one-another” thru Christ and by His Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior, the Head of the Church, is doing a fresh amazing thing @ FC in this season! He is building His church and we are so blessed to be a part of that which the “gates of Hades” will never prevail against.

I want to simply express to you today, my sincere heartfelt thanks to God for you and our growing fellowship and His perfecting work in and thru us, and because Jesus loves me and us . . .

I love you guys!”

Pastor MLK

12.31.2020

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward
call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:12-14

Those verses penned by the Apostle Paul, were ones that shaped the living of one Oswald Chambers (1874-1917), who penned the classic devotional “MY Utmost for His Highest”!

As we begin a new year, 2021 A.D. (in the year of our Lord, in reference to His birth), those verses are so fitting for ‘US‘ @ FC! I am embracing them and trusting in Him as I focus upon Him to increasingly conform me to His likeness and manifest His Life thru me by His Spirit in fresh ways, no matter the changes or challenges of 2021! Will you join me?

“Blessed 2021 Fellowship Chapel,
I love you guys!”

” . . . and you shall call His name JESUS!”
Matthew 1:21b

Jesus, the name above all names!” How I rejoice in the “good tidings of great joy” that there is born to us a “Savior, who is Christ the Lord“!

As we continue our plan for “Christmas Eve 2020” we are sensing a need to adjust our planning.

In light of our desire to glorify God by exalting Christ, as well as encouraging and extending His church by proclaiming Jesus the Christ the Son of God to as many as possible, we initially planned on having a “Drive-In” service to protect the health of all who may attend. But in light of the forecast of heavy rain and possibly high winds, we sense it will limit our ability to do that in “sight and sound” as planned.

Therefore we are planning a unique virtual event from my home we are calling “Christmas Eve 2020: From my Heart to Your Home!” You can view this intimate event @ 7:00p on our Fellowship Chapel YouTube channel! (I am so enthused about it!)

I want to encourage you to gather your family together and allow me to enter your home and read the Biblical account of the birth of Jesus, accompanied by some heartfelt encouraging insights centering on the glorious names and titles of Jesus. We are entitling this time “You shall call His name Jesus!”

So, gather as a family on Thursday, rejoice in the “Reason for the Season” in your home, and have a “Blessed Christmas 2020“!

“I love you because Christ 1st loved me!”

Pastor MLK

12.18.20

“But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, . . .”
Galatians 4:4

In God’s perfect timing He sent forth “His Son” to us, for us, to live in us, and thru us for His glory!

He fulfilled His Ministry and Mission perfectly! Now it is “our time” to fulfill our mission and ministry of loving and proclaiming Him! In that light this weekend is “such a time“. I encourage you to inform and invite all those you know to “come and adore” Jesus Christ as revealed in our “Drive-Thru” Nativity, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00p-9:00p. As Brian Holbrook has stated “This may be the only ‘church’ some will attend this year” and what a way to point to and proclaim Him as our living “Hope” in sight and sound!

Also, “Family Worship” @ 10:30a will be our annual “Christmas Sunday 2020“! It will be a special and powerful time of intimate worship in Scripture Reading/Insights, Christmas Praise, and Spiritual Response! It is another opportune “time” to redeem by inviting family or friends to join you as we proclaim Jesus “a Savior, who is Christ the Lord“!

So prayerfully, I will see you this weekend @ one or both of these “Christ-centered and exalting” events in person or you will see me virtually!

“Looking unto Jesus Christ the Lord
Who loves us and I love you!”

” .. . . a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:11

I first remember hearing that scripture quotation in 1965 while watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” when I was 7 years old! It has since been in my heart and I love proclaiming it annually during this time of year!

I wanted to inform, remind, and encourage you to plan on joining us and inviting others to be a part of this “Christmas Season 2020” @ FC. Our upcoming events will be ones that exalt Jesus, edify His church, and extend His church as we present, point to, and proclaim Him ” . . . a Savior, who is Christ the Lord“!

Our upcoming opportunistic events are:

Live Nativity 2020“! A Drive Thru event on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 from 6:00p-9:00p. I believe in the light of 2020, this could be more important than ever!

Christmas Sunday 2020“! An extra special time of ‘intimate worship’ in “Family Worship” of Scripture Reading/Insights, Christmas Praise, and Pastoral encouragement for our living as we finish 2020 and prepare for 2021!

Christmas Eve Drive-In Celebration 2020“! We believe the healthiest way this Christmas Eve 2020 to exalt Jesus, encourage His church, and proclaim Him as ” . . . a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” is to have a “Drive-In” format. It will be unique to be sure, but also structured to “Celebrate Jesus” in praise and proclamation! I believe it is going to be one of those “do not miss” moments @ FC!

Melissa Eyler is famous @ the Chapel for coining the statement “Fellowship Chapel knows how to do Christmas!” This “Christmas 2020” I invite you to “do Christmas” with us and invite others to join you (as I am) to “Celebrate the Reason for the Season: Jesus our living Hope!”

“Loving you guys with the love of Jesus for you thru me!”

“Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing.
Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into HIs courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name, for the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
Psalm 100:1-5

“Have a Blessed Thanksgiving 2020”

“Thanking God for and loving you guys in and thru Jesus Christ!”

: . . .; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in you heart
to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 5:18b-20

As Christ, who is our life, lives His spiritual life in and thru us by the filling of the Holy Spirit, He manifests Himself in an attitude of gratitude reflected in actions of giving thanks! I am so enthused and anticipating hearing your “giving thanks” with a grateful heart this Sunday!

“Jesus loves you and I love ‘us’!”

“This is one of my favorite Sundays @ Fellowship Chapel”

I am always reminded of that as we approach our “Annual Testimony of Thanks”! In the light of 2020, I believe there is no better “spiritual vaccine” than looking unto Jesus, living by faith in Him, rejoicing in Him, and giving thanks to God the Father thru Him!

So I encourage ‘us‘, if you are ready and able, join your “spiritual family” and come prepared Sunday to worship in “spirit and truth” as we publically “give thanks with a grateful” heart! We have arranged our set up to facilitate our sharing.

“Thanking God for and loving you with all my heart!”

Pastor MLK

“But when the fullness of the time had come, . . .”
Galatians 4:4a

What an incredible revelation from God the Father by God the Holy Spirit thru the Apostle Paul in regards to the first coming of God the Son! I love how Dr. David Jeremiah states, “God’s calendar had a day with a big star on it – when the time was right for Christ to be sent forth into this world!”

In that light, our calendar for November/December 2020 @ FC has several dates with stars on them which integrates with what Christ is doing in and thru us in this time! I want to encourage you to “save these dates” as we close our 2020!

27: “In the fullness of time: the Wise Men!

In these challenging and changing times, how I rejoice we are united with an unchanging Savior and Lord, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God!

I am so enthused as I keep my eyes fixed on Him to be a part of what He is doing at FC (a powerful fresh perfecting!), and in our world! As we approach the weekend, we have for my 32 years here, set aside to “Give Thanks to God” by sharing testimonies of His greatness and glory together. I encourage you to plan and be prepared to “give thanks” even in a “COVID-19” crisis!

And finally, I want you to know how “I thank God @ every remembrance” of you all and the honor He has given me to serve the interests of Jesus Christ to, for, and in you!

“Gratefully giving thanks in love for you guys!

11/14/20

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord
and in the power of His might.”
Ephesians 6:10

I am so enthused and encouraged @ the new and fresh things Jesus Christ is doing in and thru us @ FC including new families attending, others returning, and all the while Him perfecting His good work in this season of COVID-19!

In this dynamic, challenging, and unprecedented season, it seems we are ever changing in so many ways. (Increasing cases in Harford County and restrictive actions taken by our County Executive Barry Glassman!)

In that context, and in light of the new “Executive Order” from the Executive Department of the State of Maryland and Governor Hogan on November 11, 2020, out of abundance of caution and so many unknowns we have adjusted and updated our Plan and Protocol for “Re-Assembling” to reflect respect for our governing authorities appointed by God and their directives for the Lord’s sake (I Peter 2:13-17; Romans 13:1-7). Please see the attached “FC: Strong in the Lord”: A Plan and Protocol for Re-Assembling. Also we have available the new Executive Order, if you desire to review it, which is intended to protect the public welfare and health of all Marylanders! (Applicable parts I see for us are: Section III, a; and Section IV a.b.c.)

We know there are so many views on the Corona Virus @ this time and how to navigate it, and we may have varying perspectives, but we are thankful that this Order does not restrict our meeting in person (as some states), and we look forward to continuing our process of re-assembling and expanding our ministries!

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you during this season, for your love, acceptance, and patience with me as I endeavor to continue to navigate (as a pastor as well as a citizen of Maryland) these days biblically and wisely as a new creation in Christ for our benefit (spiritually and physically) and God’s glory!

“I love you guys!”

Pastor MLK

10/31/20

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we
may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
I Timothy 2:1-2

Location! location! Location! As I understand it, that is an essential in real estate. Pray! Pray! Pray! I know that is an essential in living as a new creation in Christ!

As we approach a “defining” election in America, I encourage you to 1st pray, then vote, then pray! In that light, I invite and request your presence Sunday morning, @ 9:30, downstairs in the main room, to pray together for America and God’s perfect and providential will to be done for our conformity to Christ and His glory!

In this consequential season, I will be forwarding you an email I received from the Family Research Counsel and Tony Perkins who participated with Franklin Graham in the Prayer March 2020. I hold them in high regard and the information given provides a stark contrast of perspectives.

Pastorally, I encourage you and ‘US‘, continue to run the race marked out for ‘US‘, looking unto Jesus, living thru Him and by the power of the Spirit with confidence, conviction, courage, and compassion!

“I love you guys, I love you guys, I love you guys!”

Pastor MLK

Reminder: Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday – be sure to set your clocks back an hour before you go to bed on Saturday!

10/28/20

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
Daniel 2:20-21

“This is the most consequential election in my lifetime.” (Progressive Commentator on 10.28.2020)

“This year’s election is a critical referendum on two vastly divergent visions for the future of our country. Our vote will have lasting and perhaps devastating effects for decades to come.” (Franklin Graham)

I, along with you, can agree with both of these statements. As I have contemplated the days we are living in, it seems to me the election will serve not as a thermostat, setting the temperature of a nation, but as a thermometer revealing the spiritual temperature of our nation (viewpoints; values; perspective; priorities)!

In that light, I want to pastorally encourage you, my family and friends @ FC, to do @ least 3 things:

  • Read GOOD NEWS FOR YOUR WEEK from a friend of FC, Dr. Lewis Gregory. It is excellent and encouraging. (Share it with others if you choose!) There’s a zipped pdf download link below.
  • Vote, as I am planning on doing today! (God given privilege and responsibility.)
  • Possibly most importantly “Pray for America”! I want to encourage you to join me on Sunday @ 9:30a, @ FC to pray together for the U.S. A! We see God’s miraculous working recorded in the ‘OT’ (Hebrew Scriptures) and ‘NT’ as His people and church pray together!

I confess I do not know what God’s specific will for America is or where we are exactly on the prophetic timeline, but this I do know, we, as new creations in Christ are called and commanded to pray (Ephesians 6:18; Colossians 4:2; I Timothy 2:1-7), and we are assured that the effectual fervent prayer of righteous men and women avails much (James 5:16)!

So, knowing all the reasons not to join me, I ask, will you join me and do the revealed will of God with me and pray this Sunday @ 9:30a?

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
I Thessalonians 5:16-18

“We serve a mighty big God. The Bible says, ‘God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think.’ I believe in a God who not only hears our prayers but who can answer them.” (Franklin Graham)

“Rejoicing in our God who is in control and knowing He is working all for our good and His glory!”

” . . . make disciples . . . “
Matthew 28:19a

What a privilege to be on mission with the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior flowing from our love for Him!

We have a unique opportunity for ‘US‘ to fulfill together the “Great Commission” with our upcoming ‘North Harford Community Revival: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ‘ Tent Revival on Sunday thru Tuesday. It promises to be 3 days of exalting Christ, edifying the church, and evangelizing those who are not yet in Christ!

The praise from our “Praise Team 2020” and George and Val will be inspiring! The testimonies from Joan Derry, Jake Brown, Paul and Sara Oswald and Rephael and Emily Yousefi will be uplifting! The proclamation from God’s Word by Tim Canatella, Pastor John Manry, Charles Clough, and Jik Yousefi will be powerful and hopeful in regard to Jesus for us, to us, in us, and thru us! These will be “defining moments” for many!

In that light, I urge you to plan on attending (do not miss a session) but also invite others to join you! Also, please contact ‘US‘ today @ 410.557.8859, chapel3821@msn.com (or respond to this email) as I need volunteers for various service opportunities!

To assist in communication, later today you will receive by email the invitation created by Andrea to forward to others to invite them.

In relation to a special prayer request from Melissa Eyler, please be praying for Ashton Smith who came on the prayer march trip with us. He was released from cancer treatment the other day only to experience excruciating pain, being taken to the ER and then admitted to VA hospital last night. His kidney function spiked up quite high. Pray for wisdom for his doctors in treating him & for his wife, Cheryl.

Finally, ‘seize this moment’ to “make disciples” as you pray, participate, and invite!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory  in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
I Peter 4:10

How thankful I am to God for the ‘so great a salvation’ we have in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior, and for you my brothers and sisters in Christ! If there ever was a time to use your spiritual gifting as well as talents, time, and treasure it is “for such a time as this”! I want to encourage everyone to participate to some degree in our ‘North Harford Community Revival: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ‘!

The vision is to proclaim to our community the hope we have in the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior in these ‘hopeless’ times. The plan is for a 40’x100′ tent on the Field of Faith with 200 chairs for physical distance! We will begin Sunday morning (October 18) @ 10:30a with “inspirational music”; “uplifting personal testimonies”; and an “encouraging message of hope” from Tim Canatella. We will continue nightly with the same format with different testimonies and speakers (John Manry, Sunday evening; Charles Clough, Monday evening; and Jik Yousefi, Tuesday evening). Additionally we will have some special music and videos with nightly invitations to believe in Jesus Christ or pray with someone!

In light of our vision and plan, we need your prayers and participation. A few requests:

Pray for who you will invite to join you (believer or not yet believer) and invite them.
Participate by attending and serving. We need volunteers to be available to pray with people who are inquiring about faith in Jesus or people who just desire prayer. Also people who may be available to serve as encouragers, greeters, servers for cider, care giving for children or participate in children’s activities. If you can or are willing to serve, please let me know as soon as possible @ the FC email (chapel3821@msn.com – or phone (410.557.8859)!
We are communicating this event in our community thru social media platforms and signage, but the response to it will be primarily thru us reaching out to ones we know and care for. You will be receiving an email with a flyer to forward to family and friends, as well as copies that will be available this Sunday for you to distribute, if you prefer!

As I have mentioned on Sunday, our Elders/Deacons are so enthused about this opportunity and as we have taken each step of faith God has blessed us with His peace! (We still have a major prayer request: the Tent Permit for Harford County has not yet been received!)

Dear FC family , this is a major event for us! I appeal to you to join us as we endeavor, in these unprecedented days, to proclaim Jesus Christ our hope of glory!

“The Father so loved the world that He sent His Son who loves us and gave Himself for us, and I love you!”

“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church,
and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18

In these historical and unprecedented days, when so much has been shuttered, the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior is fulfilling His promise to “build His church” and the “gates of Hades will never prevail”!

What a privilege to be a part of “His church” @ FC and to join Him in what He is doing, in particular our ‘North Harford Community Revival: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ‘ Revival, Renewal, and Refreshment! My prayer is that you will share our Vision in exalting Jesus as well as edifying and extending His church thru this event! Will you not only share the Vision but participate in the plan by praying, inviting and serving? It is incredible the inspiring praise, personal testimonies, and encouraging proclamations that are planned, centering on Jesus and our Hope in Him!

Please let me know how you can serve during this event. We need you!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church
by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21

9/25/2020

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every
prayer of mine making request for you all with joy.”
Philippians 1:3-4

Last week I heard someone say that “Thankfulness is the highest form of thinking”. I have been pondering that statement and I have been reflecting on God’s command “in everything give thanks”! I have found myself counting my blessings which include my so great a salvation in Christ, His indwelling presence, the Holy Spirit, His Word, my family, you, His promises, and on and on! I have enjoyed the powerful effect it has on my living and my perspective in these challenging and uncertain times! I invite you, join me “giving thanks with a grateful heart” as we rejoice in the Lord Jesus Christ!

I am so spiritually enthused about this weekend and I wanted to encourage you with a few thoughts from my heart.

First is the ‘Prayer March 2020’ and the incredible opportunity to join hundreds of thousands of believers safely in these day to pray for America! What a moment it will be in time! If you are attending I will see you tomorrow, if not please pray and / or watch live stream from 12:00n to 2:00p. Thanks to Melissa Eyler for organizing!

Also, I am equally enthused about this Sunday at FC! As we are continuing to ‘Re-Assemble’, I am so thankful for what God is doing and as a beloved one expressed to me, “I will never take for granted the privilege of meeting together”, and neither will I! The Father is, thru Christ and by His Spirit, transforming us into the likeness of Christ in our study of ‘The Book of Ruth’. This proclamation from God’s revelation is ‘for such a time as this’! In that light, this week will be one filled with encouraging and challenging applications that you do not want to miss! I can see the sovereign and providential hand of God in the ‘glove’ of ‘His-story’! If you can join ‘US’ in person I will see you Sunday, if not, do not miss on Facebook Live or later on our YouTube channel!

Additionally, as I continue with the Elders to prepare and plan for the ‘NH Community Revival 2020: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ’, it is amazing to see Him directing our steps as we plan our way. I am requesting your prayers and participation in this outreach event. God has ‘US’ @ the right place at the right time for the right reasons! Join Him and invite your loved ones to join you for this event (Sunday October 18 at 10:30a / 6:45p, and Monday and Tuesday October 19 and 20 @ 6:45p) More to come Sunday!

Finally, keep running the race enthusiastically with endurance, that God has placed before you, ‘looking unto Jesus’ and knowing if I can pray or serve you for His sake in any way during this season of time, please let me know!

“I love you guys because Jesus first and foremost loves ‘US’!

“I press on”
Philippians 3:12c

What an incredible phrase from the Apostle Paul that in addition to increasingly knowing Jesus Christ he is ‘pressing on’ to increasingly manifest Him in living! In these unprecedented days, I thank God ‘we are pressing on’ together in maturity and ministry. I am so blessed to serve with you!

As we continue ‘pressing on’, a few notable:

Ministry Highlights

This Sunday we are taking 2 more steps in our ‘FC: Strong in the Lord’ Plan and Protocol for ‘Re-Assembling’. We will ‘gather’ for prayer @ 9:30a downstairs in the ‘Fireside Room’, and if needed in the ‘Kitchenette’, for starters! In these challenging days, spiritually, economically, socially, politically, I encourage you to plan to join together to simply pray! The book of Acts reveals when ordinary people pray God does extraordinary things in accord with His will! Will you pray with me?

I am excited to affirm our beginning ‘Scripture Adventure’ Sunday during ‘Family Worship’ for our young people who desire to participate.

As announced we are planning an outreach event for 10.18.20. It will be entitled ‘NH Community Revival: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ’. The form this event will take will involve a tent on the Field of Faith and include music, testimonies, and proclamation centering on Jesus and the hope we have in Him in these days! Please ‘save the dates’, pray, and begin to plan on who you may invite to join you in hearing about ‘Jesus: our hope of glory!’ (More to come.)

Please see the attached updated ‘FC: Strong in the Lord’ Plan and Protocol for ‘Re-Assembling’.

Dearest family, I thank God for you and just want to encourage you in these amazing days to live with confidence, courage, and compassion, for Christ in our peace and our hope and He lives in us by His Spirit. We are so blessed exceedingly abundantly!

“Looking unto the lover of our souls, Jesus, with you as we
run the race with perseverance set before ‘US’!”

Lovingly in and thru Christ,
Pastor MLK

“Remember to Remember”

On this special day of ‘Remembrance’, may we ‘Remember to Remember 9.11.2001, and pray for all the families directly affected and for America. Above all, may we ‘Remember to Remember’ to ‘Look unto Jesus’ as we run the race of faith with perseverance He has set before ‘US’!

As we continue to ‘gather’ in person and virtually I wanted to communicate a few items:

Ministry Highlights

We had an incredible ‘Kick-off’ of AWANA Wednesday! Thanks be to God!

We will continue our ‘Pastoral Explanation’ of ‘The Book of Ruth’ Sunday. Do not miss this powerful proclamation either in person or virtually!

As we met last night as Elders / Deacons, we planned an outreach event for 10.18.20. It will be entitled ‘NH Community Revival: Sharing the Hope of Jesus Christ‘. The form this event will take will involve a tent on the Field of Faith and include music, testimonies, and proclamation centering on Jesus and the hope we have in Him in these days! Please ‘save the dates’, pray, and begin to plan on who you may invite to join you in hearing about ‘Jesus: our hope of glory! (More to come.)

Please contact Melissa Eyler or the FC Office if you desire to join ‘US’ on our bus trip to Washington, DC for the ‘Prayer March 2020‘ with Franklin Graham and his family as we pray for America at this critical time (socially, politically, spiritually, medically, etc.). We will depart 10 AM and return in the late afternoon!

Prayer Updates

Please continue to pray for Rachel and Rick Semon and family, John Schmidt (upcoming surgery), David and Amy Ice (health concerns), Rob and Aeron Smith (Audrina’s parents), President Trump, Congress, Governor Hogan, Barry Glassman, all civil authorities appointed by God to serve us in these days, our military and law enforcement personnel, and for spiritual renewal and revival in America!

Finally ‘be’ encouraged, hopeful, thankful and rejoicing, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Keep looking unto Jesus, running the race He has called you to, knowing Him and pressing on in becoming like Him ever increasingly!

Pastor MLK

9/4/2020

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine
and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Acts 2:42

How I thank God for you and being a part of a local church that continues steadfastly in the four biblical functions that began at the birth of the church on the ‘Day of Pentecost’ by the Holy Spirit! I am so blessed!

As the State of Maryland continues to progress in these historical days, moving as of today @ 5:00 p.m. to Stage 3 of the ‘Recovery Plan’, I wanted to encourage us as we continue ‘Re-Assembling’ @ FC:

As we continue to expand our ministries, I was so encouraged by the opening words Duane and Val Williams expressed to the AWANA leaders in their ‘AWANA ’20-’21: Operations Plan’. I wanted to share them with you:

It is important that Awana leaders focus on several principles that will prevent us from being distracted and discouraged during this current year.

God’s Sovereignty – God has not been surprised at all by this pandemic, nor will His will be thwarted by any obstacle that we might face this year. – Psalm 141:8

The Gospel of Christ – Keep the main thing the main thing!  Regardless of what is done in Awana club this year, Jesus and His Gospel must be the focus.  There has never been a more important time to share God’s plan for salvation.  – Mark 16:15, John 3:16, Rom. 13:12, 1 Cor. 15:3-4 No Normalcy – Anything that looks similar to normal on a Wednesday night will be a bonus.

Grace and Love – All the new challenges will require us all to show each other a little more grace and love this year.  – 2 Cor. 8:7, 1 Pet. 4:8-10

Flexibility – It is important that we all remain flexible and willing to adapt as conditions require.

Hope and Joy – Jesus has already won! Our hope is in Him and we must act like it.  We also need to remember that regardless of the challenges we will find great joy in serving Him if we stay focused on Him. – Isaiah 40:31

We can all apply these thoughts to our own daily living with our families, FC, community, nation, and world!

I am so enthused about ‘Fall 2020’ and the safe re-start of a growing number of ministries! Included in them is AWANA (9.9); Prayer Gathering (9.20); Scripture Adventure (9.20); and prayerfully we are considering some new and creative ones we will be announcing! Please give any insights / input/ideas to our Elders/Deacons as we continue to fulfill our calling of serving Jesus Christ and you for His sake!

I believe this is a critical time in our history as a nation! We are planning on participating with Franklin Graham and his family @ the “Prayer March 2020” on Saturday 26 September @ 12:00n. In our preparation, we have reserved a bus for ‘safe’ travel, but we need to know if you are interested in joining us so we can plan accordingly. (If we do not receive a large enough number we will need to cancel the bus, so please respond by Sunday 9.13.) You can respond to Melissa Eyler eylerm@hotmail.com, or FC 410.557.8859; chapel3821@msn.com). We know there are challenges to such an event, but if you are comfortable and are led, we believe it is a powerful and critical opportunity @ a ‘defining moment’ for America. (It will not include speaking or music, it is a ‘Prayer March’ from 12:00n to 2:00p.) I will speak to it Sunday!

Finally, please review the attached revised ‘FC: Strong in the Lord’ Plan and Protocol. It will be updated again as we approach September 20. I so appreciate your personal presence as you are comfortable and able as we ‘Re-Assemble’ responsibly and with an abundance of caution. If you are not yet able, please connect with ‘US’ on ‘Facebook Live’ or YouTube!

I believe these are providential days that God the Father has prepared, planned, and placed us in for us to point people to and proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! As people begin functioning again in living, we encourage you to invite them to join ‘US’ @ FC either in person or virtually. We firmly believe Jesus is the answer to our challenges and pray that in this season many will believe in Him and become like Him!

Please be assured of our deep love for ‘one-another’ in and thru Christ by His Spirit and let’s be confident in Him who is able to do more that we think or imagine!

“But God . . .”

Lovingly in the Name of Jesus,
Pastor MLK

‘I love Jesus’
Audrina Smith

Those simple words from the lips of a 5 year old child have been echoing in my ears!

Audrina went to be with the Jesus who loves her and who she loves on Monday 24 August! She is now absent from the body and present with Him forever! As her family and we grieve for a season the physical separation from her, we rejoice in knowing where she is and we as “new creations” in Christ will see her again!

I will be officiating the private ‘Memorial Celebration of Audrina’s Life’ on Friday, and so ask for your effectual and fervent prayers for the family and myself.

By way of communication, we are so thankful to you for your continued financial investment in the perfecting work of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior during this unprecedented time. You are such a loving and faithful family and I am so blessed to be a part of this church body!

As we have navigated these changing days, and even prior, we considered providing the option (as so many churches, missions, and ministries already do) for you and others who have been viewing our presentation virtually, to financially give in a simple, secure, and safe manner online. We have been researching this since the beginning of 2020 and I am pleased to announce that opportunity will now be available for those who choose, beginning this week!

It will be thru PayPal and you will be able to note where the donation goes (i.e. AWANA, etc.)! We are thankful for this form and most of all for you and the gracious sacrificial investment you make to enable this ministry that Jesus Christ is the main thing and preeminent in to faithfully and fruitfully continue!

Finally, I encourage us as we continue to run the race of 2020 together, lets run with perseverance and as always,

‘Looking unto Jesus, who loves US
and gave Himself for us!’

Lovingly in and thru Christ Jesus,
Pastor MLK
