Hurricane Harvey Relief

Clicking the banner above will open (in a new window) the donation page which Samaritan's Purse has dedicated to Hurricane Harvey Relief: samaritanspurse.org/donation-items/hurricane-harvey-relief/

Hurricane Harvey, a devastating Category 4 storm, hit the Texas coast on August 25. Many areas were battered, and Houston experienced catastrophic flooding. As waters recede, Samaritan's Purse U.S. Disaster Relief teams will fan out across affected areas and bring relief to homeowners in Jesus' Name. Specifically, our volunteers will tarp roofs, cut trees, and perform mud-outs—tearing out waterlogged walls and flooring and taking damaged belongings to the curb. Please keep families in Houston and along the Texas coast in your prayers.

Family Notes

Pray for the O'Brien family as Sarah's father-in-law passed away last weekend.

Pray for Paul McAndrew, Tim and Lisa Holbrook and Bud Hartman as they recuperate from recent surgeries; also for Linda McAndrew and Shirley McCann as they have some health concerns, and for Jen Holbrook's grandmother, Mary Barrett, who is not doing well and is hospitalized in NC.

Pray for the Wainwright family as Mary and the children are moving to Kansas this week and Ryan is being deployed to Afghanistan in a couple of weeks. We are collecting gift cards (Visa and MasterCard are generic cards that can be used anywhere) for the Wainwright family. Gift cards will be collected until February 25th (their last Sunday with us). If you would like to help with their packing, please contact Melissa Eyler or JoAnn Monn.

Thank the Lord for Rev. Billy Graham and the ministry he had all over the world preaching the gospel. We are rejoicing with him that he is in the presence of the Lord hearing, 'Well done, good and faithful servant.'

Thanks to all!!

Thanks for prayers, calls, messages and Pastor Mike's visit. Your prayers are just what I needed. Thank you so much for the beautiful pink / white roses arrangement in the tea cup. You all are one great family. Thanks again to all.

Shirley (McCann)

Dearest Fellowship Chapel family,

Thank you for your faithful love & support toward us and our ministry. Your support is truly the aroma of Christ in our lives. 'Thanks be to God . . . who through us spreads the fragrance of Him.' 2 Cor. 2:14
Thank you for being willing 'perfume bottles' in His hands.

Sincerely, Scott & Lynn Jackson with Churches in Missions

Dear Fellowship Chapel,

Thank you for your prayers on my behalf. On Dec. 14 I had surgery to pulverize a large kidney stone that could not be passed. The kidneys are now functioning properly. There have been many hospital visits, the last for dehydration. It is a source of comfort to know fellow believers in Christ are praying for me. I will treasure your thoughts and my wonderful days with you at Fellowship Chapel.

My love and gratitude,
Nelle Inabinet
(Former member of FC now living in Colorado)

Hi Friends,

We are so very grateful for your partnership and prayers! We recently received a gift from you (above your monthly support) & it could not have come at a better time. Another church sent in a similar amount at the same time, covering the cost of our broken SUV, God's timing is amazing as we had no idea how we could pay for the repairs & we just prayed. This vehicle is essential to driving around street kids & getting pregnant ladies to vital check-ups. We are thankful to God that He provides for us through you!

Love, Dan, Heidi, Isaac, & Abigail Wright
with World Team in the Philippines

Thank you church!
Wonderful partnership we have IN HIM! Many lives are being impacted through your gifts, prayers, and referrals.

Ron Powell with True Life

Charles Clough has alerted us about two great reports on recent discoveries concerning 'digital addiction' among young people that parents need to check on. Digital addiction can be as dangerous to mental and physical health as drug and alcohol addictions. Find the reports here:

It's 'digital heroin': How screens turn kids into psychotic junkies, and

Dr. Marc Siegel: Smartphones really are dangerous for our kids (they put them at risk for suicide and more)

What an amazing year it was in 2017. We saw so many lives impacted by the truth of Jesus as LIFE! Thank you for being such a vital part of His work! I am so blessed to be a part of this!

Have you heard of our Church Partnerships?

Background: Chafer Seminary was begun by academically-credentialed pastors and missionaries who had grown frustrated with the theological chaos and shallowness in so-called evangelical circles, with the neglect of consistent Biblical instruction adequate to cope with the trials of living in a neo-pagan culture, and with the traditional financial and geographical obstacles to seminary level training within a student's home church location. The seminary, therefore, has worked diligently to make quality training available by internet technology so that students can remain in their local church community and immediately utilize their training in local ministry opportunities.

Academic Training Program: Students can enroll in courses for credit toward a Masters of Biblical Education degree or a Theological Masters degree if they have a college degree or for a certificate if they do not. Or students can enroll for personal enrichment and local ministry and can do so either for credit that can be used later or for simple auditing the course. Chafer courses are administrated in two ways: either as scheduled courses in the Fall or Spring semester, or as self-paced courses.

Currently for the Fall semester, the Christian Framework 1 course taught by Charles Clough, MS and ThM, is being offered that covers significant Biblical events from the creation to the reign of King David (Genesis to 2 Samuel), the doctrinal truths revealed in each event, the contemporary cultural opposition to those truths, and the nature of how these truths interlock into a powerful framework structure for developing and strengthening one's worldview.

This course will be either a scheduled type of course or a self-paced course depending upon the need of interested students. Pastor Kenley will be made aware of any Chapel student and the materials used in the course so he can pray for, encourage, and suggest ways to use this training in the ministry of the Chapel.

For further information, see the seminary website at http://chafer.edu/. Look under 'Home', 'Students,' and 'Resources.'
